“Dad’s Basketball Girl” (1993/2020)

This is a story of Zack a carefree 16 year old who comes home from basktetball practice one day to a revelation that change his life forever.

The place is Edinburgh, the year 1980. Zack, a carefree sixteen year old basketball-mad boy returns home from practice felling his life was perfect when he receives the shocking news from his father that the hospital wanted to see him right away. What does the hospital want him for?

This news is entirely unexpected, and what’s more, the result of his visit to hospital will change his life for ever and the lives of everyone around him.

It results in him finding a relationship and a strong bond with his deaf daughter, leading him to discover sign language and the richest of deaf culture. With love, tears and laughter, this is a heartwarming story of commitment, discovery and a beautiful father daughter bond.

Cara moved back to Manchester, having moved away when she was a teenager to start afresh, she had a girlfriend of two years, Rose, who was hearing, a former womaniser before meeting Cara. After Rose put pressure on Cara in the bedroom, something Cara was not ready for, Cara walked out on Rose and her life unexpectedly changed, going horrifically wrong.

There were many complications for Cara & Sinead but can they work it out and get their happy ending?
