Since EJ was a child, EJ always dream to becoming an actor with passion. Unfortunately, there’s no drama clubs or school offered deaf children/adult welcome to join. However, at aged 13 EJ has turned into the different path by started writing the stories & scripts and it stuck since.
In 2001, EJ appeared in Ayr College (Renamed - Ayrshire College) to studied Performing Arts for 2 years. After left Ayr College, they went straight into one of Birds of Paradise Theatre Company’s “The Irish Giant” in 2003, which was EJ’s first break as a professional actor.
EJ also attended & appeared: BBC/Channel 4's Talent Funding for Disabled Actors (2005); Birds of Paradise Theatre Company again after Morven (previous artistic director) saw EJ’s performed in The Arches Theatre Company (in Glasgow - which was shut down in 2015)’s previous production, I Confess.
EJ continually enjoying by attending many of the workshops, R&D & auditions.
Many years later, EJ had return and also graduated from Royal Conservatoire of Scotland's BA Performance (July 2018), and at currently they are work as freelancer artist.
EJ has continues to work as British Sign Language translator video (advertiser/promoter for many of festivals & theatre etc.); a founder/artistic director of Turtléar since August 2015; BSL Consultant in North East of England (Newcastle area).
EJ is also an actor, writer, Creative Associate with Unfolding Theatre, Newcastle (January 2022 - present) & a workshop leader of North East Deaf Youth Theatre (August 2022 - present) and many more.
EJ also enjoys to create the short films, writing several of stories/scripts, editing the videos, DIY & creative, walk, boxsets to catch up, taking pictures of the street arts, read young adult & LBGTQIA novels & seaglass hunting.
EJ is single parent of 2 grown children.
EJ idenitify themself as non-binary gay. (birth as female but prefer themself as “person” not female.)
